Arucana concludes 195,000 sq ft of office designArucana has recently completed the workplace consultancy role for three of the West Midlands leading organisations. These include a 65,000 sq ft Headquarters for the West Midlands Fire Service, the 65,000 sq ft remodelling of the Headquarters of the Wesleyan at Colmore Row, Birmingham together with concluding the design of the Qualification Curriculum Authority's new office at Earlsdon Park, Coventry. Arucana was appointed to work on these prestigious schemes due to clients recognising our unique competencies in the area of Workspace Performance, our understanding of Changing Demographics in the Workplace, together with the Psychology of Colour. West Midlands Fire Service worked for 2 1/2 years with the Arucana design team. The workspace strategy adopted was a ‘quantum leap' in change from their highly cellularised office environment at the historic site at Lancaster Circus, Birmingham. The new scheme embraces new ways of working and new technologies providing the West Midlands Fire Service with one of the country's most efficient office environments. In contrast to this, the Wesleyan's appointment of Arucana assisted them in improving occupational usage by 30% in their landmark Colmore Row building. Arucana worked with the Wesleyan's Change Team to ensure that the Wesleyan's objectives of cultural change where mirrored through the interior environment. The Wesleyan undertook a complete review of the storage strategy and workstation footprint and the once highly cellularised environment is now transformed into a modern workspace embracing flexible working. After a tender process of six Workspace Designers, the QCA selected Arucana to work with MCD to develop the interior workspace strategies of this prestigious Headquarters in Coventry. The relocation from London to Coventry required an office environment that fully satisfies the new business strategies and operational needs of the QCA in the future. Arucana was delighted to conclude the Consultancy role in January 2009.
